The Schumann Resonance is an Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) vibration emanating from the Earth itself. It was discovered by Winnifried Otto Schumann in the middle of the twentieth century.
These vibrations, or resonances, are electromagnetic waves that exist between the Earth’s surface and the Ionosphere. These waves occur globally, excited by lightning discharges all over the world. The frequency of the wave is measured at 7.83 Hz, but can vary slightly due to a number of different factors.
The human brain operates at several different frequencies: alpha, beta, delta, etc…; it is the resonance produced by this phenomenon of lightning discharge that oscillates at a frequency remarkably close to the brain’s alpha waves, according to research conducted by Herbert Konig. The Schumann Resonance is significant because of the theory that, as this ELF vibration exists on a planetary scale, it serves as background frequency that influences the mammalian brain, keeping it ‘tuned’.
Research was then conducted by Professor R. Wever who theorized that man-made electromagnetic waves might interfere with the natural harmony that exists between mammals and the globe. He conducted an experiment whereby he placed a number of healthy test subjects into a bunker that completely blocked out the naturally occurring resonance operating at 7.83 Hz. The intent was to attempt to re-create the gap felt by mammals when man-made electromagnetic pollution effectively prevented the naturally occurring frequency from being felt.
Professor Wever noted that his subjects experienced emotional distress and migraine headaches and that being re-exposed to the electromagnetic waves at the Schumann frequency restored their biological rhythms to a healthy state.
If electromagnetic pollution from wireless devices such as cell phones is creating an environment where humans are out of sync with their naturally occurring healthy state, there is no telling what sort of problems might be experienced by the inhabitants of major metropolitan cities where this connection can no longer be established.
